SWEngines - Extended Warranty Scam
Purchased a transmission from SW - in Jan 2014. I also purchased the extended warranty. The transmission never worked perfect, it was slipping right after we had it installed. By May the transmission was slipping and clunking. I called SWEngines, told them I had an extended warranty, what did I have to do to see what I needed to do to get it fixed. They told me to take it back to the installer and have them check it out. I did. It was totally ruined. I called them back again. Told them I had an extended warranty and the transmission was checked out. I asked them what I had to do next. I was told to fax the paper work back and then give them another call. I called the day after I sent the fax. I told them my name and I had an extended warranty and had faxed the paper work in. At this point I was told that I had not activated the warranty and the claim would not be covered and the extended warranty does not cover pre-existing conditions. Well I am screwed now. I have filed my complaint with BBB. I have my first response -
**On June 19, 2014, the business provided the following information:
Read your invoice its clear as day you must call to activate warranty. Ever other customer does it just fine but you try to blame some one else nice try ***
The rude response is clearly consistent with complaints from other customers of SWEngines. It is extremely unprofessional.
Based on the fact that the company only has 520 likes in a year and a half on face book, and the generic postings seem to be from the company itself. I have come to the conclusion that the reviews I have read about the company are 100% correct.
